I’ve really enjoyed the Substack experience so far as both a reader and writer. The return to long form content has been a welcome change, and sharing the random creative projects I dream up has been surprisingly therapeutic. Most of my personal projects never see the light of day, but sharing them really does give you a stronger sense of it being complete.
I’m not chasing likes or followers on this platform, just sharing my creative process and work, for better or worse. Sometimes just hitting the publish button feels like enough of an achievement and I hope it stays that way.
With that in mind, I want to try and expand what I’ve started here. More focussed and extended content, posted more regularly. I am also going to rename this publication from Noise Journal to A Signal in the Static starting with my next post.
I feel like this name better encapsulates the idea of tuning in to creative ideas in the mental static, and also has a nice nod to sound design.
Each month will finish with a roundup of Substack posts and music that have resonated with me during the month. There are so many great writers on this platform that need to be heard.
So I hope you will dive a little deeper with me and see where the rabbit hole goes.
Here are this weeks Analog Ghosts…
