After three photo shoots, I’ve gathered a lot of source material. The curation process is becoming more challenging, and I find myself being much more critical in my selections.
I’ve discovered that working backwards from the latest shoots helps when reviewing material—knowing what’s ahead makes it easier to let go of earlier works. I suppose this is natural as my technique improves and a distinct aesthetic or theme begins to emerge.
There are so many fascinating images to come! As tempting as it is to jump ahead, I’m trying to present them in the order they were captured to create a timeline and see if it reveals any evolution in my technique.
I’ve also been experimenting with glitch video, which I hope to share soon. I’d like to create 10-second clips with original music as part of this series—partly as a way to ease back into making music. However, I’m facing some technical challenges capturing video from the CRT screen that I need to resolve first.
This week I present Analog Ghosts 07 - 09
As I mentioned last week, the compression on substack is draining the colour from these images so check out my website for colour-accurate versions at a higher resolution.
These look amazing and you are absolutely correct about the compression. So much more vivid on your site. Beautiful work, man.
